Today Capitol City Brewing Company is tapping its Equality Ale! You might remember this beer being mentioned during Obama’s Beergate, when Cap City brewers suggested it would be the perfect beer to settle differences over at the White House.
Well now that that is all over, the lucky patrons of Cap City get to try the beer that Obama unfortunately didn’t have the forthought to enjoy. There is only one batch, but it will be on draft at the Downtown, Capitol Hill and Shirlington locations. According to the Downtown Cap City hostess it will be available starting at Happy Hour tonight!
Equality Ale is a German-style brown ale with crisp hop bitterness with a touch of malt in the finish (5% ABV). I’m planning on hitting one of their happy hours tonight to check the new limited-addition beer out myself. Cap City’s Happy Hour is Monday through Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm at all locations. They have $5 appetizers specials. Get the pretzels with this new German beer.
