According to Matt Hagan from Cap City’s PR firm, the brewery’s Capitol Hill location is not actually “underseige from a toxic sewer gas” as much as a good blogger might like to write such things to make another week of Belgian beer dinners in DC interesting.
Actually he says:
“And, according to post office workers, the odor has dissipated. No odor was ever present in the restaurant. The DC Health Inspector visited Cap City today and gave the restaurant (and beer) a clean report.”
Also the smell seems to becoming from built up grease in the pipes and not some other more disgusting sewage related problem. Anyway, the beer is fine people. Enjoy. And to Matt, at least I didn’t write “Cap City Stinks” as my headline like some other bloggers out there. Hehe. They know who they are… Love you guys!
