Belga Cafe Beer Dinner with Duvel Green Tomorrow Night

Belga Cafe seems to be a leader of the pack in terms of DC beer events. They’ve got another great one coming up Tuesday night–including a new beer release!

Steve Cardello, Market Manager for Duvel representing Duvel in the U.S. as well as Ommegang, Maredsous, D’Achouffe and Leifmans will be introducing the beers while chef Bart Vandaele will be serving a great Belgian entree and desert to pair with the beers. The beers will include…

According to Belga, beers will include Maredsous Tripel and and Dubbel as well as Ommegang’s Abbey and Three Philosophers.

The star of the night might be the introduction of Duvel Green the newest offering from Brewery Moortgat. Duvel Green is essentially a ‘young’ version of the regular bottle conditioned Duvel. They contain the same ingredients and the brewing process is essentially the same. However, Duvel green does not undergo cellaring and secondary fermentation in the bottle. It actually has a much lower alcohol percentage logging in at only 6.8%. (Regular Duvel is 8.5%!) Up until now, this style of Duvel has generally only been available at the brewery or close by. See more on Duvel Green at Beer Advocate…

The tasting and dinner takes place Tuesday July 28th at 6:30 PM. It’s $49 a person which includes all the beers, a gourmet entree and dessert. Click here for Belga’s website…
