This Friday is the Beer Advocates’ American Craft Beer Fest in Boston, and I’m headed up there today to take part in the festivities. I’ll be at the Friday night tasting and might get a chance to take in Beer Wars as well–although that might take up precious drinking time when there are 300 beers to go through.
The beer list and brewery presence looks pretty good with some West Coast breweries making an appearance. 21 Amendment will be showcasing its two beer available on the East Coast now–Hell or High Watermelon and Brew Free or Die IPA. Bear Republic will also be there with a brewer’s choice beer which might be interesting. Deschutes from Oregon will be there with a nice lineup including their Black Butte Porter.
It’s interesting to see just how many New England breweries are on the list–Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, even Nantucket are all well represented. Cisco–the Nantucket brewery–is one of my faves, but for the most part we can get their beers down here. Check them out. Another brewery that’s easy to find has some hard to get stuff, Allagash is pouring its Brett infused Confluence. Click here for the beer list…
Since I’ll be in Boston a few days, I will try to get a review up of any cool bars we go to up there. And be sure to look for muddled attempts at beer reviews and a bunch of pictures of the event later this week.

I’ve got my tickets and I am ready to rock!
