For Capitol Hill beer lovers, there’s a perfect new summer happy hour for you. Without having to head to the beach you can grab your Maryland crabs and a choice of local microbrews every Wednesday at the soul food restaurant Art and Soul. The special gets you three jumbo crabs, corn on the cob, hushpuppies and potato salad.
According to their website, all of their drafts are from local breweries! They have Victory’s St. Boisterous Hellerbock, Beach House Golden Pilsner from Old Dominion and Double Dog Pale Ale from Flying Dog. When I get the chance to check it out I will list more. Get your crab and beer starting at 5:30 p.m. on their patio–the restaurant is right around the corner from Union Station.

The draft selection is unusual in that it’s exclusively regional craft brews, no Budmiller, no Lite. On Friday 6/19 the five taps (with room for one more) were Old Dominion Beach House Pils, Flying Dog Double Dog Double Pale Ale (11.5%!), Legacy Hedonism, Weyebacher Hop Infusion, and Starr Hill The Love. And unlike the always crowded Matchbox not far away, the bar was empty at lunch. Go, before the hotel management turns it into something else.
