Brasserie Beck gets Silly next week

If you had to spend $85 a person on a dinner, one of Brasserie Beck’s beer dinners might be the way to go. Next Wednesday, June 17 at 7PM Beck is hosting Lionel Van der Hagen, owner and brewer at Brasserie de Silly for a four course meal paired with his Belgian styled ales.

Courses include Pink Killer for the aperitif, pan seared grouper matched by La Divine Blond, duck confit washed down with Abbaye de Forest, bison strip loin paired with Scotch de Silly and artisanal cheeses beside La Divine Tripel. For those keeping score at home, that’s $85 for 3 types of animal and 5 beers! Chef Robert Wiedmaier, who got his start in Old Town as a saucier, is outdoing himself with the lineup. See the menu under the news section while its still online here…

Brasserie de Silly got started in the 1800 and their Scotch is one of their oldest beers in production. The aperitif, Pink Killer, is one of their newest creations and features grapefruit juice for its flavoring. While the beers on the list for dinner are all enticing, I’d recommend going early to the bar and seeing if they have Silly’s Saison or their witbeir Titje to try as well.

Seems like Brasserie Beck has been having these dinners once a week now. Last week they hosted a He Said Beer She Said Wine dinner with Sam Calagione from Dogfish Head and before that they had a beer and chocolate dinner. I will try to keep up as they post more info!
