You remember Bill Catron? He recently left Brasserie Beck to pursue other beery interests. One happens to be my favorite beer store in town, DeVinos. I am not sure exactly Bills role, but I am certain he is now in charge of sourcing the growing Belgian beer selection at DeVinos. I believe he is also keeping hours at the store, serving as your beer advisor when you are shopping from his selection. Eddie has told me that they have even bigger plans and are one their way to having the largest selection of Belgian beers in a store in the city.
In the past the best place to get your Belgian rarity fix was either at a specialty restaurant like Beck or Granville Moors or hiking out to Chevy Chase Liquors, but now we’ve got a metro accessible in-town spot right between Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle.
