Friday the city celebrates Repeal Day, but all I am finding are deals on mixed drinks. I am sure they are our there with the city’s beer bars pouring some tasty pints.
Monday December 8 seems to be a big night. Birreria Paradiso and Brickskeller are going head-to-head with competing beer tasting events. Brickskeller is hush hush about who will be hosting this years Holiday Extravaganzee (other than that it will be local brewers) but Birreria has Three Floyds’ Nick Floyd and his master brewer presiding over an all inclusive tasting dinner. With two seating times, the price is $70 for dinner and beer. Brickskeller’s tasting is $35 which always results in far more beer than the price tag but you might want to order some food so that you can stand up at the end of the night.
Do not despair over this choice too much… For the true beer nuts, might I suggest Birreria on Monday and Skeller on Wednesday… the Brick is nice enough to be hosting TWO events this coming week. (The second night is Wednesday, December 10.) Not bad. Although the tastings and brewers to meet will be different each night, you can seemingly have you pizza and bricks too.
